It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her debut and seven world titles have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was out the team required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
