Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as important members in House Halovar could enable the party access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect learning which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
