🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Voice Frustration Regarding Size Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes without notifying all users about the change. Digital Channels Response Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Changes Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Stories One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Required Changes Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
